James H Clark and Urcelia Katherine Williams Clark were my maternal great-grandparents. James was born in Lincoln County, Missouri on 9 July 1840 to William Clark and Eleanor Ervin. He was the oldest of three children. His siblings were Nancy Jane (who married Daniel Boone Martin in 1863) and David Clark (who died at the age of 14 in a hunting accident). His mother died in 1853 when James was 12 years old. He and his sister, Nancy Jane were listed in his grandfather Ervin's probate record as grandchildren. James's name appears on the U.S. Civil War Draft Registration Records for the Fifth Subdistrict in Lincoln County, Missouri in 1863.
